Category:

With MileageWise’s Bluetooth Monitoring feature, your trips are recorded automatically, without needing to press a single button. Simply pair your MileageWise app with your vehicle’s Bluetooth device, and the app will handle the rest.

How to Set It Up:

  1. Ensure Mobile Data and Bluetooth Are On For Bluetooth monitoring to work, both your mobile data and Bluetooth must be enabled on your phone.

  2. Pair with Your Vehicle’s Bluetooth:

    • If your vehicle has built-in Bluetooth, select your vehicle’s Bluetooth name from the list and connect.
    • If your vehicle doesn’t have built-in Bluetooth, you can pair with any Bluetooth device that you only use in your vehicle, such as a Bluetooth speaker connected via the cigarette lighter or USB port.

Recording Your Trips:

Once paired, MileageWise will automatically log your trips when you turn off your vehicle’s ignition at a recognized client/location in your database.

  • New Locations: If the app doesn’t find a client/location nearby, it will create a new entry with the location’s address, which you can rename later via the Mobile App or Web Dashboard.
  • Default Trip Purpose: New clients are saved with a default trip purpose, which you can update anytime on the Settings / Profile page.
  • Fuel Alerts: If you’re using the Actual Expenses Method and the nearest location is a filling station, the app will alert you and navigate you to the refueling/charging interface to enter details.

Personalize Your Trip Recording Experience

MileageWise offers several features to tailor your trip recording to your specific needs. With the Set Auto-Recording Time Period feature, you can define specific days and times for the app to automatically track your trips, ensuring it only records during your work hours or preferred periods.

Combine this with the Default Trip Purpose feature, which allows you to set a default purpose for new clients/locations, and the Saved Client Recognition feature, which automatically recognizes and classifies previously visited locations.

These tools work together to minimize unnecessary input, making your mileage tracking seamless and efficient.

  1. Go to Recording Options in the app and select Car Bluetooth Monitoring.
  2. In the Select Car Bluetooth Device menu, press the red plus button.
  3. Follow the prompts to pair a new Bluetooth device from your phone’s Settings menu.
  4. Once paired, return to the app and select the new device.

Notifications:

  • The app will notify you when it starts recording your client visit, and you can cancel the recording by pressing the Abort button.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation notification once your client visit is successfully saved.
  • Your trip will be recorded under the Fixed Trips menu.

Avoid Duplication:

If you choose Bluetooth Monitoring as your primary recording method, we recommend deleting any previously set Recurring Daily Trips on the MileageWise Web Dashboard to prevent duplicate entries.
